Product Details
The Solar Sense 750 is a sophisticated standalone monitor designed to provide a professional level of insight into any photovoltaic installation. While traditional monitors tell you what your system is currently doing, the SolarSense 750 tells you what it is capable of doing. By measuring solar irradiance and cell temperature, it calculates the "estimated solar power" available, allowing you to see if your main panels are underperforming due to external factors like dust build-up or aging.
Installation is remarkably straightforward. The package includes a mounting bracket with an alignment ledge, two self-drilling screws and a locking screw. You simply attach the bracket to your solar panel frame, slide the sensor into place and tighten it down. The unit is rated to IP65, ensuring it is totally protected against dust and water spray.
Data communication is handled via Bluetooth Low Energy advertisements, which Victron calls Instant Readout. This allows the sensor to send data to your phone or a GX device, such as a Cerbo GX, without a complicated pairing process. The internal memory is impressive, storing 31 days of detailed trends and up to 730 days of historical maximums and minimums. This long-term data is invaluable for understanding how your solar yield changes through the seasons, ensuring you always have the information needed to maintain an efficient and reliable power system.
