The Victron Smart BMS CL 12-100 is a compact and reliable battery management system designed for 12 volt Victron LiFePO4 Smart Batteries. It provides full cell monitoring and protection by managing charge and discharge conditions, ensuring that every battery in the system operates within safe limits. This includes safeguarding against under voltage, over voltage and temperature issues by disconnecting loads or charge sources when needed.
A key advantage of this model is its dedicated alternator input. This limits the current drawn from any 12 volt alternator and ensures that current flows in one direction from the alternator to the lithium battery. This prevents alternator overload and stops reverse currents, which is essential in modern lithium based electrical systems used in vehicles, marine setups and off grid installations.
The unit includes a remote on or off connection that allows the entire system to be switched via a simple control input. It also features a pre alarm contact that gives an early warning before a complete system shutdown, helping avoid unexpected power loss in critical installations. This alert can activate a buzzer, relay or indicator depending on system requirements.
The BMS provides three MOSFET based outputs for load disconnect, charge disconnect and pre alarm signalling. These outputs support safe control of chargers, loads and alert systems without relying on mechanical relays. The design allows installation with up to five Victron 12.8 volt LiFePO4 batteries in parallel, providing flexibility for building larger storage banks.
Bluetooth connectivity is included, allowing quick configuration, live monitoring and firmware updates using the VictronConnect app. This helps technicians and installers keep systems optimised and ensures long term reliability.
Built for demanding environments, the Smart BMS CL 12-100 has IP65 protection and robust terminal connections including M8 power studs and Faston connectors.
