The Victron Blue Smart IP67 Waterproof Charger (12 V, 7 A) is a rugged, professional-grade battery charger designed for demanding environments. It features a cast-aluminium housing with fully encapsulated electronics, making it waterproof, shockproof, and ignition-protected: ideal for marine engine rooms, bilges, outdoor vehicles or any site exposed to moisture, dirt or vibration.
This charger uses a 5‑stage adaptive charging algorithm (Bulk, Absorption, Recondition, Float, Storage) to deliver optimal charging for a wide range of battery types, including lead‑acid (wet, AGM, gel) and Li-ion batteries. It can even revive deeply discharged batteries, initiating a low-current “wake-up” to bring them back from zero volts.
Built-in Bluetooth Smart connectivity allows trade professionals and system integrators to monitor charger status, adjust settings, and perform firmware updates using the VictronConnect app on a smartphone or tablet. The unit is highly efficient, achieving up to 93% efficiency, which minimises heat generation and reduces power waste. In standby, its power draw drops to around 0.5 W, improving its suitability for long-term connections.
The charger supports dual operating modes: normal charging at 7 A and a low current mode at 2 A. This is useful for maintaining smaller batteries without overcharging. It also offers a storage mode that reduces float voltage when the battery has not been used for 24 hours: this protects positive plates in lead-acid batteries and limits degradation.
Temperature control is built in: the unit will reduce its output if ambient temperature rises above 40 °C, but it continues operating up to 60 °C. Electrical protection includes anti short-circuit, over-temperature, and reverse polarity protection. The charger also features LED indicators for Bulk, Absorption, Float and Storage modes, making it easy for engineers or maintenance staff to check status at a glance.
Physically, the charger measures 85 × 211 × 60 mm, weighs 1.8 kg, and comes with 1.5 m cables terminated with M8 ring eyelets, allowing fast, secure wiring.
