Victron 12V 165Ah AGM Dual Purpose Deep Cycle Battery

This 12 V, 165 Ah AGM dual-purpose deep cycle battery is engineered for professional, high-current DC applications. Built with flat-plate AGM (Absorbent Glass Mat) technology, it offers excellent performance under load while remaining maintenance-free thanks to its sealed VRLA design. The battery has very low internal resistance, which makes it particularly well suited to use with inverters, thrusters or winches.

The battery supports up to 400 cycles at 80 % depth of discharge, 600 cycles at 50 % DoD, and 1,500 cycles at 30 % DoD, giving long life in deep-cycle applications. At a nominal voltage of 12 V, it is ideal for both off-grid and on-grid systems. The recommended charging voltages are 14.2–14.6 V for absorption, 13.5–13.8 V for float, and 13.2–13.5 V for long-term storage, optimising the battery’s longevity.

In terms of physical design, the battery measures 485 × 172 × 240 mm and weighs around 47 kg, making it robust yet manageable for professional installations. It is fitted with M8 bolt-through copper terminals, ensuring a secure, low-resistance connection that is appropriate for heavy-duty power systems.

One of the battery’s key advantages is its very low self-discharge rate (less than 2% per month at 20 °C), which makes it reliable even when stored for extended periods. Its deep-discharge recovery is strong; even after prolonged or deep discharge cycles, the AGM design recovers effectively under the right charging regime.
