The Victron MPPT 250/100 VE.Can SmartSolar Charge Controller is designed for large solar arrays and high-demand battery systems. It provides precise Maximum Power Point Tracking to ensure the highest possible energy harvest, even in challenging conditions. With a rated charge current of 100 A, it is suitable for 12 V, 24 V and 48 V battery banks, with 36 V supported through manual configuration.
The controller accepts a maximum PV open-circuit voltage of 250 V and offers substantial PV power capability. It supports up to 1,450 W at 12 V, 2,900 W at 24 V and 5,800 W at 48 V. The unit is fitted with three pairs of MC4 connectors, each rated to 30 A, to provide secure and efficient integration with modern solar modules.
Communication and system expansion are key strengths. VE.Can networking allows up to 25 SmartSolar units to work together in large or modular installations. All charging data can be viewed on a GX device for centralised system control. Bluetooth Smart is included as standard, providing fast access to settings, firmware updates and live performance information via the VictronConnect app.
The charge algorithm is fully programmable, offering eight pre-set profiles and custom voltage settings for absorption, float and equalisation. Configuration is accessible through Bluetooth, VE.Direct or an external display module. A built-in load output protects batteries from excessive discharge by disconnecting loads when necessary.
The SmartSolar 250/100 is built for durability, with IP43 protection for electronics and IP22 for the connection area. The design maintains high efficiency, reaching up to 99 percent conversion efficiency with exceptionally low self-consumption. The unit also includes remote on or off control, a programmable relay and full compatibility with parallel operation when part of a larger system.
With a robust 4.5 kg enclosure and compact dimensions of 295 x 246 x 103 mm, this controller is ideal for commercial solar installations, off-grid power systems, marine applications and industrial energy storage solutions.
