Upgrade your battery-monitoring system with the Victron Smart Battery Sense (SBS050150200); the wireless sensor designed to enhance the charging performance of your Victron MPPT solar chargers. This compact unit connects directly to your battery terminals via two pre-crimped eyelets and adheres to the battery surface using its self-adhesive back. Once installed, it transmits both voltage and temperature measurements wirelessly over the VE.Smart Network (Bluetooth Smart) to one or more compatible Victron devices.

Why does that matter? Traditional systems often rely on measuring voltage at an inverter or charge controller, which can suffer from voltage drops in cables and misread the true battery terminal voltage. By mounting the sensor directly at the battery, the Smart Battery Sense gives accurate terminal voltage data, enabling your charger to deliver the correct charge voltage. For lead-acid batteries, temperature compensation means higher charge voltages in cold conditions and lower in hot. For lithium batteries, the sensor can inhibit charging in dangerously low temperatures, protecting your battery investment.

With compatibility across 12 V, 24 V and 48 V banks (operating range 8-60 V), this Long Range version is ideal for installations where the charger is mounted some distance from the battery, offering wireless connectivity up to about 10 metres. Installation is straightforward and tidy: mount the unit, connect the eyelets, pair via the VictronConnect app, and your system is ready to go.
