This model combines the proven features of the original MultiPlus with an external current sensor option to support advanced Energy Storage System (ESS) applications. It is an ideal investment for trade professionals outfitting yachts, commercial vehicles, or residential off-grid sites.
At its core, this unit delivers 4kW of continuous pure sine wave power. This ensures that sensitive electronic equipment, such as computers and networking hardware, receives a clean and stable supply. The 48V configuration is particularly advantageous for larger installations because it reduces current draws and cable thickness, resulting in a more efficient electrical architecture. A standout feature is the dual AC output system. The primary output provides uninterruptible power to critical loads, while the secondary output only operates when AC input is available, preventing the unnecessary discharge of batteries by heavy appliances like water heaters.
Efficiency is managed through Victron Energy's proprietary PowerControl and PowerAssist technologies. PowerControl allows installers to set a maximum limit for the grid or generator input, ensuring the unit automatically prioritises load supply and uses only the remaining current for charging. PowerAssist enhances this by supplementing a limited AC source with battery power during periods of peak demand. This allows the system to handle loads that would otherwise trip a shore power breaker or stall a smaller generator.
For mission critical applications, the integrated UPS functionality is indispensable. In the event of a power failure, the internal transfer switch activates in less than 20 milliseconds. This transition is so rapid that connected electronics continue to operate without rebooting or data loss. The system is also highly scalable. Up to six units can be connected in parallel to achieve higher power outputs, and three units of the same model can be configured for three-phase operation.
Housed in a robust steel enclosure finished in RAL 5012 blue, the unit is built to last in demanding environments.
