The Victron Galvanic Isolator VDI-64 A provides essential protection for your vessel's underwater metals against electrolytic corrosion. This professional-grade device blocks harmful low-voltage DC currents that enter through shore power connections, preventing damage to your hull, propeller, shaft, and other submerged metal components.
Built around a dual diode configuration connected in anti-parallel fashion, this isolator allows bidirectional current flow but only above a threshold voltage of approximately 1.4 Vdc. This clever design means the forward voltage is higher than the potential difference between metals, effectively blocking corrosive galvanic currents whilst maintaining full electrical safety compliance. When fault voltages exceed this threshold, the diodes conduct current, allowing your boat's residual current device to disconnect the circuit as designed.

Installation & Ventilation
- Mounting Orientation: The unit must be mounted vertically (with its length vertical) to facilitate maximum cooling through natural convection.
