A built in 30 A ATO blade fuse protects the circuit and helps safeguard both the wiring and connected equipment. The indicator uses a simple three LED system to show the approximate battery state of charge. Green indicates 80 to 100 percent, orange indicates 60 to 80 percent and red indicates 40 to 60 percent. If none of the LEDs illuminate, the charge level has dropped below 40 percent and the battery should be recharged. This makes it a convenient tool for quick on site checks, especially in systems that are cycled frequently.

Designed for 12 V systems operating between 6 and 15 V, the device draws only around 0.9 mA, which means it will not noticeably reduce battery capacity over time.
