The Victron Argodiode 80-2SC battery isolator is an elegant solution for installations requiring two separate battery banks (for example, a starter battery and a house battery) to be charged simultaneously from a single alternator, while preventing one battery from discharging into the other.
Utilising high-efficiency Schottky diodes, the device maintains a low voltage drop around 0.3 V at low current and up to 0.45 V at its 80 A rating. A compensation diode is included to raise output voltage slightly, offsetting inherent voltage losses in the isolator.
The unit supports both 12 V and 24 V systems, automatically adapting accordingly. It handles a maximum charge current of 80 A, matching common alternator outputs.
The physical dimensions are 60 mm (height) × 120 mm (width) × 75 mm (depth). It weighs approximately 0.5 kg.
This unit is ideal in marine, off-grid, campervan or remote power systems where dual battery arrangements are needed but physical separation (no direct connection) is preferred. It helps prolong battery life by ensuring proper isolation while maintaining efficient charging.

- Maximum Alternator Current: 80 A
- Number of Batteries: 2
- Nominal Battery Voltage: 12V and 24V
- Alternator Energize Input: No
- Voltage Drop (Low Current): ~0.3 V
- Voltage Drop (Rated Output): ~0.45 V
Mechanical Specifications
- Main Connections: M6 Studs
- Compensation Diode Connection: 6.3 mm Faston
- Dimensions (H x W x D): 60 x 120 x 75 mm (2.4 x 4.7 x 3.0 inches)

Installation Note: Simply inserting the isolator in the cabling between the alternator and the batteries will slightly reduce the charge voltage. To ensure batteries reach a 100% state of charge and avoid premature aging, it is recommended to utilize the compensation diode to adjust the alternator output.
